Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Chattanooga, Tennessee 37412 (Tennessee nursing jobs)
• Facility: 30-bed Medical-Surgical unit
• Assignment Type: Travel Nursing (Med/Surg travel nurse)
• Start Date: January 12, 2026
• End Date: April 13, 2026
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour night shifts)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Schedule: Every other weekend and holiday rotation; self-scheduling available
• Floating: May float between 2 North and 2 West Med/Surg units
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1530 - $1640

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (Tennessee or compact state)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
• Proficiency in IV starts, NGT placement, wound care, and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and perform lab draws
• Strong communication skills and a patient-focused attitude
• Must wear navy scrubs (no fleece or sweatshirts)

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to medical-surgical patients
• Perform IV starts, NGT placement, wound care, and cardiac rhythm monitoring
• Operate wound vacs, heparin gtts, suction, IV pumps, glucometers, bladder scanners, feeding pumps, and telemetry equipment
• Document patient care using Editech system
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including techs, clinical coordinators, charge nurses, and leadership
• Provide excellent patient and family experiences, including service recovery and escalation as needed
• Engage in a supportive, learning-focused environment with opportunities for recognition and professional development
