Charleston Nursing Job Details
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1420–$1530
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/8/2025 – End: 3/9/2026)
- Healthcare Setting: 18-bed Medical/Surgical Unit (Family Medicine 7A)
- Nursing Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per month
- Holiday Rotation: Yes
- Floating: May be required within scope and between similar units
- Charting System: EPIC
- Scrub Color: Solid Royal Blue or White top with Royal Blue bottoms
- Orientation: 12 hours (includes modules)
- Parking: Onsite garage available (one-time registration fee)
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active South Carolina RN license or Multi-State/Compact RN license
- Minimum 1 year of recent Medical Surgical RN experience
- BLS certification required
- Experience with adult patient populations
- First-time travel nurses accepted
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as scheduled
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Willingness to float as needed
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality care to adult medical and surgical patients, including those with chronic illnesses
- Manage patient loads with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4–1:5
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, and more)
- Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and deliver patient education
- Document care using EPIC electronic health records system
- Follow isolation precautions and infection control protocols
- Respond to rapid response and code teams as needed
- Float to similar medical/surgical units as required
