Charleston Nursing Job Details

• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1420–$1530
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/8/2025 – End: 3/9/2026)
• Healthcare Setting: 18-bed Medical/Surgical Unit (Family Medicine 7A)
• Nursing Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per month
• Holiday Rotation: Yes
• Floating: May be required within scope and between similar units
• Charting System: EPIC
• Scrub Color: Solid Royal Blue or White top with Royal Blue bottoms
• Orientation: 12 hours (includes modules)
• Parking: Onsite garage available (one-time registration fee)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active South Carolina RN license or Multi-State/Compact RN license
• Minimum 1 year of recent Medical Surgical RN experience
• BLS certification required
• Experience with adult patient populations
• First-time travel nurses accepted
• Ability to work weekends and holidays as scheduled
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Willingness to float as needed

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality care to adult medical and surgical patients, including those with chronic illnesses
• Manage patient loads with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4–1:5
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, and more)
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and deliver patient education
• Document care using EPIC electronic health records system
• Follow isolation precautions and infection control protocols
• Respond to rapid response and code teams as needed
• Float to similar medical/surgical units as required
