Travel Nurse Job Details

• Location: Hagerstown, Maryland 21742 (Western Maryland healthcare jobs)
• Setting: LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) Unit
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: January 5, 2026 – End: April 6, 2026)
• Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1990-$2130
• On-site Registered Nurse position
• COVID-19 & Flu Vaccine: Required (No exemptions)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience in a U.S. hospital
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Maryland or compact state)
• Certifications: BLS, NRP, AWHONN (Beginner & Intermediate), FHM
• Experience with Epic electronic health record (EHR) system preferred
• OB surgical recovery and C-section experience highly preferred
• Previous charge nurse, community hospital, or trauma experience preferred

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum phases
• Assist with high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and post-surgical recovery
• Conduct newborn assessments, APGAR scoring, and provide couplet care
• Administer medications, blood products, and manage IV therapy
• Support breastfeeding and provide lactation education to new mothers
• Educate parents on discharge instructions, car seat safety, and newborn care best practices
• Utilize external and internal fetal monitoring equipment
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and social services
• Participate in on-call hours or pick up additional nursing shifts as needed
