ER RN Job Details – Portland, ME
- Location: Portland, Maine 04102
- Healthcare Setting: Emergency Department (60+ beds)
- Assignment Type: Travel Nursing Job
- Shift: 12-Hour Nights (7:30PM – 8:00AM)
- Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Start Date: December 28, 2025
- End Date: June 27, 2026
- Assignment Duration: 26 weeks
- Dress Code: Scrubs (any color)
ER Nurse Qualifications
- Active Maine Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility to obtain
- BLS certification required
- CPI or equivalent workplace violence prevention training
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in inpatient Med-Surg or Emergency Department nursing
- Experience with both adult and pediatric acute care patients preferred
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach
- Ability to float to all areas within the Emergency Department
ER RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult and pediatric patients with diverse acute diagnoses
- Monitor and operate clinical equipment, including Phillips VS Monitors and EKG machines
- Accurately document patient care using the EPIC EMR system
- Maintain safe patient ratios (1:4 or 1:6) to ensure effective emergency care
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver comprehensive emergency services
- Adhere to Emergency Department policies, dress code, and professional standards
