Job Opportunity: CT Technologist
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Overview
Seeking a skilled and experienced CT Technologist to work in a Level I trauma center's CT department. The role involves performing a variety of CT procedures in a fast-paced emergency room setting with emergent inpatient needs.

- Dynamic, high-pressure environment
Shift Details
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Works every third weekend
- On-call approximately once every 10 weeks
Responsibilities
- Perform CT procedures including abdomen, pelvis, head/neck, chest, spine, musculoskeletal, and brain perfusion
- Operate CT equipment efficiently to ensure high-quality imaging
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure patient safety and comfort
- Maintain accurate patient records and comply with regulatory standards
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond promptly to emergent situations
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of CT technologist experience
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
- AART Advanced certification preferred but not required
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and on-call duties
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Licensure & Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA Instructor/Provider or RQI acceptable
- ARRT certification required
- AART Advanced certification preferred
- Additional certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (e.g., ACLS, PALS) – verify per unit specifics
Background & Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and BCI fingerprinting
- Monthly monitoring through federal exclusion lists (EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG)
- Education accreditation verification required
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug test within 3 months of start (includes amphetamines, benzodiazepines, cannabinoids, cocaine, opiates, etc.)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Tdap (adult dose)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B titer or vaccine series (declination acceptable)
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- Annual review and acknowledgment of dress code, hand hygiene, ethics, and compliance policies
- Completion of Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training certificate prior to start and annually thereafter
Additional Requirements
- 2 professional references required; at least one must be from a manager or formal leadership
- Employment application and skills checklist required
- Unit-specific competency exams may be required
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for RNs (not applicable for this role)
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgment required annually
Notes
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
