RN - PICU Travel Opportunity

Location: Wichita, Kansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36


Unit Information

  • Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Level II Trauma Center
  • 15 beds, staffed by approximately 38 team members
  • Day shift includes Intensivist, RN, Desk Tech, RT, Dietary, Case Management
  • Night shift includes Intensivist, RN, RT
  • Patient ratio: 2:1
  • Equipment: General Cardiac Rhythm (CR) Monitoring
  • Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech / CPN
  • Teaching hospital environment

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Kansas
  • Minimum 1 year of Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) experience within the last year
  • Current BLS and PALS certifications
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience in an acute care hospital setting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
  • Pediatric hematology/oncology nursing (APHON) experience
  • Prior experience in a pediatric teaching hospital

Typical Procedures

  • IV starts and blood draws
  • Tracheostomy (TPT) placements

Work Environment & Culture

  • Works well under pressure
  • Patient care experience is a priority
  • Supportive teaching hospital setting

This position is a travel assignment in a competitive market, offering exposure to advanced pediatric critical care in a Level II trauma center.
