Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist

Location: Nashua, New Hampshire
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days
Hours per Week: 40


Job Summary

  • Perform radiologic technologist duties in the Cardiac Cath Lab and Special Procedures lab, including scrubbing in and running X-ray equipment.
  • Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures.
  • Evaluate images for quality to support physician diagnosis.
  • Maintain procedural areas, equipment, and materials in a clean, orderly, and prepared state throughout the day.
  • Position and prep patients and equipment for all procedures.
  • Report unusual reactions or conditions to nursing staff.
  • Rotate among shifts or departments as needed to meet patient care demands.
  • Participate in up to 16 hours of unpaid orientation.
  • Must be able to take call.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in New Hampshire
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, including experience within the last year
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Current New Hampshire ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) license
  • Completion of a certificate or degree program in radiologic technology
  • Competency with Balloon Pump devices
  • Competency with Impella devices

Skills and Competencies

  • Proficient in scrubbing and assisting during cardiac catheterization and special procedures.
  • Knowledgeable in operating and maintaining X-ray and related imaging equipment.
  • Competent with Balloon Pump and Impella devices.
  • Ability to explain procedures and include patients in their care.
  • Strong judgment and sensitivity to patient and organizational concerns.

Additional Information

  • The employer reserves the right to cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week contract.
