Description
Operating Room Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Tyler, Texas
Shift: Evening, 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday (40 hours/week)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Travel/contract RN position in the Operating Room specialty.
- Call required.
- Charting system: Epic.
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 1.5 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including OR experience within the last year.
- Experience in Orthopedics, Neurology, Vascular Surgery, and Urology.
Licensure & Certifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience, including OR experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Travel experience (one or more completed travel assignments)
- Experience in Orthopedic Surgery, Neurology, Vascular Surgery, and Urology
- Experience with Epic charting system
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License or State ID.
- E-Verify compliance required.
- Background checks including 7-year history, SS trace, county searches, nationwide checks, sex offender registry, and education verification.
- Education verification of highest level completed.
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start.
- Physical exam within 12 months of start.
- Fit test for approved masks within 1 year of start, renewed annually.
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test (2-step PPD, QGOLD, or TSPOT) within 1 year
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Hepatitis B: positive titer, series, or declination accepted
- Varicella: positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history required
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31). Declinations not accepted.
Additional Requirements
- Unit-specific skills checklist required annually.
- 7-year work history verification required.
- Complete employment application/resume required.
- Clear headshot photo for badge.
Restrictions
- Candidates residing in the following Texas counties are not eligible: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris.
This position offers a structured weekday evening schedule with a focus on surgical specialties requiring diverse clinical experience and multiple certifications.
