Operating Room Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Tyler, Texas
Shift: Evening, 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday (40 hours/week)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Travel/contract RN position in the Operating Room specialty.
• Call required.
• Charting system: Epic.

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 1.5 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including OR experience within the last year.
• Experience in Orthopedics, Neurology, Vascular Surgery, and Urology.

Licensure & Certifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Texas
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience, including OR experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Travel experience (one or more completed travel assignments)
• Experience in Orthopedic Surgery, Neurology, Vascular Surgery, and Urology
• Experience with Epic charting system

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License or State ID.
• E-Verify compliance required.
• Background checks including 7-year history, SS trace, county searches, nationwide checks, sex offender registry, and education verification.
• Education verification of highest level completed.
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start.
• Physical exam within 12 months of start.
• Fit test for approved masks within 1 year of start, renewed annually.
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test (2-step PPD, QGOLD, or TSPOT) within 1 year
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: positive titer or 2 vaccines required
  • Hepatitis B: positive titer, series, or declination accepted
  • Varicella: positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history required
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31). Declinations not accepted.

• Unit-specific skills checklist required annually.
• 7-year work history verification required.

Restrictions

• Candidates residing in the following Texas counties are not eligible: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris.

This position offers a structured weekday evening schedule with a focus on surgical specialties requiring diverse clinical experience and multiple certifications.
