Registered Nurse – Emergency Department
Location: Springfield, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Provide direct patient care in a busy urban Level 1 Trauma Center Emergency Department. Responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for all age groups. Coordinate care with ancillary departments to optimize patient comfort and outcomes. Work within the scope of nursing practice and facility standards.
Work Schedule
- Shift: Days, 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
- Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 (must be specified on submission)
- Weekend hours as required
- No call requirements
- Block schedules are not accommodated
- Night shift orientation occurs on day shift and requires full week availability

- Department: Emergency Department
- Number of Beds: 68
- Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1; may vary during surge
- EMR System: EPIC
- Facility is a Level 1 Trauma, Stroke, STEMI, and Regional Burn Center
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Valid Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with trauma and pediatric patients
- Comfortable managing high acuity and high volume (200+ patients/day)

- Strong clinical expertise in emergency nursing
- Effective communication and human relations skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
- Determined, decisive, and flexible personality fit
Physical and Working Conditions
- Stand and walk most of the shift
- Lift and push patients on stretchers and wheelchairs
- Work primarily in a clean, air-conditioned environment
- Physical demands include pushing, pulling, gripping up to 50 lbs, pinching up to 15 lbs, minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling
Additional Requirements
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required from November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
- Professional and appropriate attire required; black scrubs preferred; jeans and unprofessional attire are not allowed

Notes
- Time off requests (RTO) must be made on the back end of the assignment; no RTO approved during the first week
- Only one holiday RTO allowed per assignment
- Must indicate preferred weekly hours (36 or 48) on submission form
