Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Transplant
Location

Shift Details
- Weekend Nights: Saturday, Sunday, plus one rotating weekday
- Shift Hours: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM (3x12 hour shifts)
- Call and holiday coverage required
Patient Population
- Abdominal Transplants only: Kidney, Pancreas, Liver, Intestinal/Multi-visceral
- Pediatric transplants are excluded
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of transplant nursing experience (strict requirement)
- Accepts first-time travelers if they meet the 2-year transplant experience requirement
- Prior travel experience is not required

Documentation & Compliance Requirements
Licensure & Certifications
- Valid Registered Nurse license for Indiana (online primary source verification required within 30 days before start)
- BLS (AHA only, RQI acceptable)
- ACLS (AHA only, RQI acceptable)
- PALS (AHA only, RQI acceptable)
- NRP (AHA only)
- Other certifications (e.g., Chemotherapy, TNCC, EFM) may be required depending on the cost center
Background Checks
- Must include 7 years of residence/work history with:
- SSN Trace
- County and State criminal checks
- Statewide and National Sex Offender Registry
- FACIS Level III
- Education verification required (may be pending at start)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
Health & Immunization
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
- Fit mask test within 12 months (specific respirators approved)
- Drug screen (10-panel) within 12 months
- Immunizations required or proof of immunity for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (series, titer, or signed declination)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (strongly recommended)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually
Competency & Skills
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required
- Unit competency exam required
- Color blindness testing (Ishihara or equivalent) required
References & Employment History
- Minimum 2 references from recent employment within 2 years
- Employment application covering last 7 years with explanations for gaps over 30 days
- Skills checklist within 12 months, updated annually
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Indiana
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including OR experience within the last year
- Minimum 2 years of transplant nursing experience
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- PALS issued by American Heart Association
