Description
American Traveler is hiring a CVOR RN for a circulating position requiring 2 years of experience and IN or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Circulating role in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) of a short-term acute care hospital
- Performs cardiovascular procedures including heart and lung transplants, aortic dissections, and ECMO
- Day shift schedule of 4x10 hour shifts from 11:00 to 21:30
- Call requirement of approximately 100 hours per 6 weeks, including 1 call weekend per 6 weeks (Friday evening to Monday morning)
- Floating required to other OR specialties within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
- Uses Cerner charting system
Requirements
- Active RN license, IN or compact license required in hand prior to start (temporary IN license also accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required
- First-time travelers accepted if they have Level I Trauma experience
- Current BLS certification required
- Cardiovascular and aortic aneurysm repair skills required
- Cerner charting experience preferred
- Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
- 2 supervisor references required
- Nursing degree from a college or university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide circulating nursing support for complex cardiovascular surgical cases including transplants and aortic procedures
- Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
- Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved, additional time off requires facility approval
- Local IN residents are accepted and considered local candidates for this position
- Free parking available onsite
- Any past permanent or PRN employee of the health system must be separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
- Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within the health system must take a designated consecutive break to reset eligibility (90 days for out-of-state residents, 180 days for in-state residents)
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply with appropriate trauma experience
