Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVOR RN for a circulating role in a short-term acute care hospital, requiring at least 2 years of experience and proficiency with complex cardiovascular cases including heart and lung transplants and ECMO.
Details
- Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) circulating position — scrubbing is not required
- Short-term acute care hospital setting with 24 OR rooms
- Complex cardiovascular cases including heart and lung transplants, aortic dissections, and ECMO
- Day shift schedule: 4x10-hour shifts (11:00–21:30)
- On-call required: approximately 100 hours per 6-week period, including one call weekend (Friday evening through Monday morning) per 6 weeks
- Floating required to other OR specialties, including within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate
- Charting performed in Cerner (experience required)
- Free parking available
Requirements
- Active IN or Compact RN license in hand prior to start date
- Current BLS certification (AHA or RQI accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of CVOR RN experience required
- Experience with heart and lung transplants, aortic dissections, and ECMO required
- Level I Trauma experience required for candidates without prior CVOR screening
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Nursing degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited institution required
- 2 supervisor professional references required
- SSN and date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply, provided they have Level I Trauma experience
- Indiana residents are considered local candidates and are eligible for this position at a modified pay package
- Perioperative/OR RNs (including CVOR) who are Indiana residents are exempt from the general IN resident exclusion policy
- Former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have a 12-month break in employment before applying as a traveler
- Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health must take a consecutive break before being eligible again — out-of-state residents require a 90-day break; in-state residents require a 180-day break
- Must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the assignment
- Up to 5 days of RTO may be auto-approved
