RN - Step Down

Job Overview

  • Location: Springfield, Missouri
  • Employment type: Travel
  • Specialty: Tele/Stepdown in the ED/ER
  • Shift: Days, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
  • Weekly hours: 36 or 48
  • Assignment length: 13 weeks
  • Openings: 4

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Missouri
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Driver's License
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association
  • Stepdown (1 year of experience)
  • Stepdown experience within the last year
  • Telemetry experience
  • ED - Emergency Department experience

Schedule / Assignment Notes

  • Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
  • Weekend hours are as required by the facility
  • No call requirements
  • RTO must be made up on the back end
  • RTO is not approved in the first week of the assignment
  • Only 1 holiday RTO request is allowed per assignment

Clinical Setting

  • Emergency Department
  • 68 beds
  • Typical patient ratio is 4:1
  • Level 1 trauma, Stroke, STEMI, and regional burn center

Additional Requirements

  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption is required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted

Work Environment

  • Must be able to stand and walk most of the shift
  • Must be able to lift and push patients on stretchers and in wheelchairs
  • Physical demands include pushing, pulling, gripping up to 50 lbs, pinching up to 15 lbs, and minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling

Preferred Experience

  • Trauma/peds experience
  • High-acuity experience
  • Experience with 200+ patients per day

Dress Code

  • Black scrubs
  • Jeans and unprofessional attire are not allowed
