Step Down Nurse

Overview

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
Hours per week: 36
Contract length: 13 weeks
Start timing: 3–4 weeks out, depending on compliance tier
Patient ratio: 1:3–4
Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
Floating: May float within scope to meet facility needs
Local candidates: Not accepted within 75 miles
Pending license: Accepted
Time off restriction: No more than 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Missouri
Stepdown (2 years of experience)
Stepdown experience within the last year
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Vascular Surgery experience

Unit / Role Details

Step-down unit
Pre- and post-operative vascular surgical services, including:
- Abdominal and thoracic aortic aneurysm repair
- Carotid endarterectomies and stents
- Peripheral vascular interventions of lower extremities
- Hemodialysis AV fistulas and grafts
- Thoracic outlet decompression
- Lower extremity amputations
- Lysis of DVTs
