PACU

Location

Saint Louis, Missouri

Schedule

Day shift, 4x10 hours
7:30 AM to 6:00 PM
No weekends
No call

Contract

13 weeks
Travel/contract assignment

Patient Care Setting

PACU for interventional radiology recovery
Float only within scope to PACU or PreOp units
Adult patients, with occasional adolescents and geriatric patients
Level I trauma center

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Missouri
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
2 years of PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience
PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience within the last year
BLS issued by American Heart Association
ACLS issued by American Heart Association
Experience in an inpatient setting
Critical care experience
Dysrhythmia recognition and management
Blood product administration
Intravenous vasopressor administration
Intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring
Care of ventilated patients
Experience with Epic

Key Skills

Work Conditions

No local candidates within 75 miles of the facility
No more than 7 days of requested time off
Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks
Night shift staff would need to learn pre-op patient workflow

Additional Notes

Surgical recovery includes neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general, colorectal, GYN, urology, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and transplant cases
Open heart surgeries and liver transplants are not recovered on this unit
Unit has 38 patient bays
Unit is open 24/7
Own PCT/transport team is available
