Description

Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (Night Shift)

Location: Rockford, Illinois
Employment Type: Contract (13 weeks)
Shift: Night Shift (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) with weekend and holiday rotation
Hours per Week: 36


Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse to provide patient care using the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams. Responsibilities include administering medications and treatments, performing assessments, planning and evaluating care, and developing individualized patient care plans. The role involves participation in performance improvement activities and supporting patient safety and experience through critical thinking and appropriate escalation.


Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Illinois
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • ED - Emergency Department (2 years of experience)
  • ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • NIHSS
  • TNCC

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments following nursing standards and state laws
  • Document care according to standards
  • Perform patient assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation
  • Develop and execute individualized patient care plans, including patient and family education
  • Participate in unit performance improvement and shared governance activities
  • Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments
  • Utilize critical thinking to ensure patient safety and escalate concerns appropriately
  • Engage in professional nursing development and peer review processes

Additional Information

  • Night shift with weekend and holiday rotation
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
