Cardiac Mechanical Support Coordinator

Job Overview

Specialty: Registered Nurse
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day, Monday–Friday, 5x8 hours
Weekend/Call: 1 weekend per month plus 1 weekday of call
Floating: May float within scope to meet facility needs
First-time travelers: Accepted
Local candidates: Accepted on a case-by-case basis within 60 miles

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in South Carolina
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
CVICU experience within the last year
2 years of CVICU experience
BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
ACLS issued by American Heart Association
Experience managing and troubleshooting durable mechanical circulatory support devices (HM 3, Heartware, BrioVAD)
Experience with IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump) devices
Experience with Impella devices
VAD (Ventricular Assist Device) coordinator experience

Preferred Experience

1 year of clinical work experience managing advanced heart failure patients
1 year of CTICU experience
VAD Coordinator experience

Role Summary

Rounds on both inpatient and outpatient patients
Services and troubleshoots devices in both inpatient and clinic settings
Serves as a subject matter expert for the devices used in the role

Additional Notes

Candidates should be prepared for hurricane-season emergency response assignments if needed
Parking requires a permit and a $20 registration fee for a hang tag
