NICU Registered Nurse

Job Overview

  • Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
  • Employment type: Travel/Contract
  • Shift: Day, 3x12 hours
  • Weekly hours: 36 or 48
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Schedule notes: Block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed; every other weekend and every other holiday

Role Details

  • Float pool position covering pediatric units, including PICU, NICU, pediatric med-surg, pediatric PACU, pediatric ED boarders, and postpartum/mother-baby
  • Clinical review and auto offer
  • Time off: Up to 40 hours can be approved; no time off can be approved during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
  • Must adhere to float policy

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Virginia
  • PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care (2 years of experience)
  • PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care experience within the last year
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
  • NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure issued by American Heart Association or American Academy of Pediatrics
  • Infant-Driven Feeding™ Advancing Oral Feeding Practice in the NICU
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Experience working with Pediatric patients
  • Experience working with Neonate patients
  • NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience
  • Experience with Epic

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pediatric PACU experience
  • Epic experience

Additional Notes

  • Candidate should be comfortable working with pediatric patients
  • Infant-Driven Feeding certification may be submitted pending, but it has a cost of $185
