Job Overview

  • Location: Hopewell, Virginia

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Virginia
  • ED - Emergency Department (2 years of experience)
  • ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
  • ACLS
  • BLS
  • PALS
  • CPI
  • NIH Certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Strong IV skills with adults and pediatric patients

Preferred Qualifications

  • Trauma experience
  • TNCC
  • Meditech experience

Unit Highlights

  • 22-bed emergency department
  • Approx. 50 staff members
  • Patient ratio: 1:4
  • Potential floating to a freestanding emergency department about 15 minutes away

Commonly Performed Procedures

  • Cardioversion
  • Central line placements
  • Cardiac arrests
  • IV insertions and EKGs
  • Pacemaker interrogation
  • Code Stroke protocol
  • Code Sepsis protocol
  • Suture and abscess setup

Schedule

  • Every other weekend
  • At least 1 Friday and 1 Monday in a 4-week schedule
  • No on-call requirement
