Description
Registered Nurse — MS/Tele
Overview
- Travel/contract role in Wilmington, North Carolina
- Night shift: 18:45–07:15
- 36 hours per week
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Patient ratio: 1:6
- Self-scheduling
- Every other weekend
- No call
- May float to the main campus
- Must be able to work holidays
- Unit accepts first-time travelers
- Local candidates accepted
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Clinical Experience / Skills
- Med/surg and telemetry nursing
- Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Rapid response/code team support
- Blood product administration
- Central line blood draws, PICC management, peripheral IV care, and phlebotomy
- IV starts and maintenance
- Heparin, insulin, and PCA administration
- Chest tube management
- BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, nasal cannula, and non-invasive airway management
- Oral suctioning and oxygen administration
- Isolation precautions and wound care
- Care for bowel obstruction, colostomy/ileostomy, feeding tubes, hemodialysis, renal failure, and wound vacs
Preferred
- Charge experience
- ACLS
- Telemetry monitoring experience
- Post-angiogram, post-cardiac surgery, and post-MI experience
- IV insulin protocols
- Bariatric surgery
- Continuous bladder irrigation
- Port access/management
- CVA, substance withdrawal, surgical drains, ABG interpretation, pre/post thoracic surgery, and tracheostomy care
- Electronic documentation
- Community hospital experience
Additional Notes
- RTO limit: 7 days per contract
- Navy blue or white scrubs
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Medication system: Pyxis
