Description
Labor and Delivery Nurse
Overview
- Travel/contract role in Missouri
- Start date: ASAP
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Night, 3x12 hours, 18:45–07:15
- Weekend requirement: Every third weekend
- Local candidates allowed
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Labor and Delivery (2 years of experience)
- Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or RQI
- EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring
- NRP
- AWHONN Intermediate
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience with Cerner
Preferred Qualifications
- AWHONN Advanced
- Charge experience
Required Skills
- Blood and blood product administration
- CVC/PICC line care
- Peripheral IV start and maintenance
- Medication administration including anticonvulsants, antihypertensives, heparin, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate therapy, and oxytocin
- Circumcision assistance
- Car seat education
- Cord care
- Discharge teaching
- IV antibiotics
- Newborn assessment
- Neonatal abstinence syndrome care
- Pain management, including opioids and pain assessment
- Baby-friendly protocols
- Couplet care
- Incision care
- Isolation precautions
- Phlebotomy
- Vaccine administration

- Ratio: 1:3
- Scrub color: Navy blue
Additional Notes
- First-time travelers are not accepted
- CPI will be needed starting in January 2026
