Description
ICU Registered Nurse
Overview
- Travel assignment in Alexandria, Louisiana
- 36 hours per week
- 13-week contract
- Must live more than 50 miles from the facility
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Louisiana
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
- MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
- ACLS
- BLS
Unit Details
- Medical ICU with 26 beds
- Typical patient ratio is 2:1
- 12-hour shifts from 7:00 to 7:00
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required
- Floating may be required to other medical-surgical units, with priority to intensive care units
Clinical Focus
- Cares for ICU patients, including COVID-19 patients
- Advanced skills needed in ventilator management, critical care drips, and thorough assessment of cardiac, neuro, and respiratory systems
- Common procedures include intubations, cardioversions, ventriculostomy drain placement and management, IABP management, CRRT, and proning
Additional Notes
- TNCC is a plus
- Uses Meditech for documentation
- Self-scheduling is available within unit guidelines
