Description
Labor and Delivery Nurse
Assignment Details
- Travel/contract role
- Start date: September 28, with possible earlier review for September 21
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Nights, 3x12 hours
- Hours per week: 36
- Weekend requirement: Every third weekend
- Block scheduling: Case-by-case manager review
- Locals accepted at the same rate
- Radius restriction: None
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kansas
- Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience
- One completed travel assignment
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Preferred Experience
- Previous charge experience preferred
Clinical Skills / Experience
- Assist with sterile speculum exam
- NST
- Reflex checks
- Sterile vaginal exam
- EFM
- External fetal monitoring
- IVs and medication administration
- High-risk and vaginal delivery
- Forceps/vacuum deliveries
- C-sections
- Neonatal care
- Newborn care
- Pain management
- Postpartum care
- Surgical cases, including cervical cerclage
Additional Notes
- Critical access setting
- Candidate should be able to jump in after the second shift
- EMR familiarity with Centricity is preferred
