Medical Surgical Float

Overview

Travel/contract RN position in Pinehurst, North Carolina
Night shift, 3x12 hours
36 hours per week
13-week contract
ASAP start
Float pool role between medical units, mainly covering inpatient oncology and medical-surgical units
2 nightshift travelers needed

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in North Carolina
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
2 years of Medical Surgical experience
Float experience within the last year
Float experience with 2 years of experience
BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Must not reside in Moore County

Schedule and Assignment Details

Maximum 7 days of requested time off

Compliance and Onboarding

Government-issued photo ID
Background check covering all locations lived, worked, or attended school in the past 7 years
EPLS/GSA/SAM check
HHS/OIG check
NURSYS verification
Primary source verification of state license
Two clinical references, with one from a supervisor or higher
Complete application and resume
Annual skills checklist
Color blindness testing
Competency exam as applicable to specialty
Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
EKG competency exam is required for applicable units
Modules must be completed before start
Physical exam within 1 year of start
Tdap within 10 years of start
Negative TB test or chest X-ray, with annual update requirements
Hepatitis B documentation: series, titer, or declination
Measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella immunity or vaccination documentation
10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season

Certifications

BLS
ACLS based on unit/specialty
NIH Stroke Certification
NRP based on unit/specialty
STABLE for NICU RNs
CPI for ER and Psych if applicable
CHEMO is preferred, not required for oncology RNs
TNCC is preferred, not required for ER RNs
