Medical Surgical RN

Overview

Travel/contract role in Saint Louis, Missouri
Night shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
13-week contract
Patient ratio: 1:4–6
Every other weekend required
Floating within scope may be required
No block scheduling
No local candidates; home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility
Start date is approximately 3–4 weeks after compliance clearance
Guaranteed hours

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Missouri
Med Surg (2 years of experience)
Med Surg experience within the last year
ACLS issued by American Heart Association
BLS issued by American Heart Association
NIHSS issued by American Heart Association
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Neurosurgery experience

Unit Notes

Medical-surgical neuroscience unit caring for pre- and post-operative cranial and spinal surgery patients
Also receives general neurology and stroke patients as secondary priority
Commonly manages intermittently drained lumbar and surgical drains
Does not take titratable drips except heparin
Does not take trachs/total laryngectomy, EVDs, fresh TPA administration, or arterial lines
