Description

Medical Surgical RN

Overview

  • Travel/contract role in Saint Louis, Missouri
  • Night shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • 13-week contract
  • Patient ratio: 1:4–6
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating within scope may be required
  • No block scheduling
  • No local candidates; home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility
  • Start date is approximately 3–4 weeks after compliance clearance
  • Guaranteed hours

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Missouri
  • Med Surg (2 years of experience)
  • Med Surg experience within the last year
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • NIHSS issued by American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Neurosurgery experience

Unit Notes

  • Medical-surgical neuroscience unit caring for pre- and post-operative cranial and spinal surgery patients
  • Also receives general neurology and stroke patients as secondary priority
  • Commonly manages intermittently drained lumbar and surgical drains
  • Does not take titratable drips except heparin
  • Does not take trachs/total laryngectomy, EVDs, fresh TPA administration, or arterial lines
