Registered Nurse - Intermediate Care
Location: Springfield, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long Term
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: AM
Unit Description
- Intermediate Care Unit (ICU stepdown) specializing in Medical/Surgical/Trauma/Transplant patients
- Primary patient population includes surgical, trauma, and transplant cases
- Patient care involves ventilators, high flow oxygen, and BiPAP support
- Unit size: 32 beds
- Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:3 or 1:4
- Common cases: trauma, general surgery, thoracic surgery, kidney transplants, Whipple procedures
- Patients have very complex surgical and medical needs
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
- Minimum 1 year of Intermediate Care experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
