Registered Nurse - Intermediate Care

Location: Springfield, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long Term
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: AM

Unit Description

Intermediate Care Unit (ICU stepdown) specializing in Medical/Surgical/Trauma/Transplant patients
Primary patient population includes surgical, trauma, and transplant cases
Patient care involves ventilators, high flow oxygen, and BiPAP support
Unit size: 32 beds
Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:3 or 1:4
Common cases: trauma, general surgery, thoracic surgery, kidney transplants, Whipple procedures
Patients have very complex surgical and medical needs

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
Minimum 1 year of Intermediate Care experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
