PCU RN

Overview

Travel/contract role in Aurora, Colorado
13-week assignment
3x12 rotating shifts: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM and 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
Weekend coverage required per unit needs
Floating required as needed, including to sister facilities
First-time travelers accepted if experience requirements are met

Required Qualifications

Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Valid RN license in Colorado
PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association

Unit Details

PCU setting
High-acuity, fast-paced 36-bed unit
Typical nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:3 or 1:4 on days and nights, with ratios able to flex based on staffing and unit needs
Common procedures include scopes, biopsies, moderate sedation, cardioversion, and urgent dialysis
Common drips include insulin, diltiazem, amiodarone, nicardipine, heparin, lasix, and dobutamine

Additional Notes

On-call is not required
Charting system: EPIC
