PCU RN
Overview
- Travel/contract role in Aurora, Colorado
- 13-week assignment
- 3x12 rotating shifts: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM and 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
- Weekend coverage required per unit needs
- Floating required as needed, including to sister facilities
- First-time travelers accepted if experience requirements are met
Required Qualifications
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Valid RN license in Colorado
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
Unit Details
- PCU setting
- High-acuity, fast-paced 36-bed unit
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:3 or 1:4 on days and nights, with ratios able to flex based on staffing and unit needs
- Common procedures include scopes, biopsies, moderate sedation, cardioversion, and urgent dialysis
- Common drips include insulin, diltiazem, amiodarone, nicardipine, heparin, lasix, and dobutamine
Additional Notes
- On-call is not required
- Charting system: EPIC
