Medical Surgical Oncology

Overview

• Travel/contract RN position in Saint Louis, Missouri
• 13-week assignment
• Day shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
• 36 hours per week
• Start date: 3–4 weeks out, depending on compliance

Unit Details

• Oncology unit with medical oncology and BMT patient populations
• Typical ratios: 1:4–5; 1:3 for BMT on all shifts
• Clinician may float within scope and within the service line
• First-time travelers accepted
• Every-other-weekend required
• On-call not required
• Block scheduling not available
• No local candidates accepted within 75 miles

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Oncology experience within the last year
• 1 year of oncology experience
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN preferred

Clinical Expectations

• IV starts
• Chemotherapy administration
• Trach care
• Accessing ports and central lines
• Stem cell transplantation experience
• BMT experience
• Does not need chemotherapy administration or infusion experience

Compliance Notes

• No more than 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract
• Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks, with cancelled shifts matching the regular shift length
• Background check, education verification, drug testing, TB documentation, flu documentation, fit testing, and other standard onboarding documents are required per facility compliance
• Parking is available for a fee; orientation parking is also fee-based
