Description

Acute Care Float RN

Overview

  • Travel/contract RN role in Knoxville, Tennessee
  • Acute care float assignment; staffing supervisor assigns the unit at the time of staffing
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Night shift: 6:45 PM–7:15 AM, 12-hour shifts
  • Typical patient ratio: 1:6
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Weekend requirement: every other weekend
  • On-call: not required
  • Block scheduling: not accommodated

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Tennessee
  • Float (2 years of experience)
  • Float experience within the last year
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Experience in an Acute Care setting
  • Experience with Cerner

Assignment Areas

  • May float to medical, surgical, trauma, observation, oncology, nephrology, orthopedics, neuro, vascular, pulmonary, cardiac surgery, and cardiac units

Compliance / Pre-Start Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID
  • E-Verify proof or attestation
  • Background check
  • Education verification
  • NURSYS verification for RNs
  • Physical exam within the last 12 months
  • Tdap
  • TB screening and TB questionnaire
  • Measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella documentation
  • Drug screen with alcohol test
  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption when applicable
  • References: 2 professional references within 2 years of start
  • Skills checklist
