RN - Step Down
Job Overview
- Travel RN position in Springfield, Missouri
- 13-week assignment
- Day shift: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Weekly hours: 36 or 48, as selected on the submission form
- Auto-offer role
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Driver's License
- 1 year of Stepdown experience within the last year
- Telemetry experience
- ED - Emergency Department experience
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- PALS issued by American Heart Association
- TNCC and NIHSS may be submitted without, but must be obtained before start
- Flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption is required from November 1 to April 1; declinations are not accepted
Schedule and Assignment Details
- Weekend coverage as required by the facility
- No call
- Block scheduling is not accommodated
- RTO must be made up on the back end
- RTO is not approved in the first week of the assignment
- Only 1 holiday RTO request per assignment
Unit and Patient Care
- Emergency Department
- 68 beds
- Typical patient ratio is 4:1, with ratios subject to change based on surge or other circumstances
- Level 1 trauma, stroke, STEMI, and regional burn center environment
- Busy urban trauma center
- Must have strong clinical expertise, communication skills, and human relations skills
- Uses the nursing process and provides direct patient care across all age groups
Work Conditions
- Requires standing and walking most of the shift
- May involve lifting and pushing patients on stretchers and in wheelchairs
- Physical demands include pushing, pulling, gripping up to 50 lbs, pinching up to 15 lbs, and minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling
Preferred Experience
- Trauma/peds experience
- Experience with 200+ patients per day
- High-acuity experience preferred
Dress Code
- Black scrubs
- Unprofessional attire and jeans are not allowed
