Registered Nurse, Operating Room

Location: Gardner, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Contract
Shift: 40-hour day schedule, 4/10-hour days with call rotation
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Massachusetts
OR - Operating Room (1 year of experience)
OR - Operating Room experience within the last year
BLS issued by American Heart Association
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Experience

Operating room nursing experience is strongly preferred
CNOR is strongly preferred

Required Skills

Ability to function in an environment with competing priorities

Can-do attitude

Key Responsibilities

Provide perioperative nursing care, including assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, documentation, and patient/family teaching
Safely administer medications and intravenous therapy
Collaborate with the surgical team during procedures
Maintain sterile technique, aseptic practice, and proper handling of supplies, instruments, specimens, and cultures
Verify patient identity, consent, procedure, and surgical site before surgery
Maintain sponge, needle, and instrument counts
Support patient safety, privacy, confidentiality, and compliance with hospital policies and regulations
