PACU RN

Overview

Travel/Contract role in Roanoke, Virginia
13-week assignment
Day shift: 3x12s, 8:00–20:30 or 9:00–21:30
36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Virginia
PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience within the last year
1 year of PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience
One completed travel assignment
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Experience with Epic

Required Clinical Skills

IV therapy, including blood products, central/PICC line care, and IV starts
Respiratory care for ventilated patients, chest tubes, airway management, tracheostomy, extubation, and End-Tidal CO2
Neuro care including craniotomy, EVD, spine surgery, and stroke scale
Cardiac care including antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, vasopressors, opioids, reversal agents, arterial line, dysrhythmia management, and CPR
Surgical procedures including ENT, general, neuro, ortho, total joints, cholecystectomy, and spinal
Monitoring and assessments including lab values, isolation, malignant hyperthermia, pain, PCA, and RASS
Pediatrics management
Pre/post-op care including EKG, consent, cath/endoscopy/operative procedures, and straight cath for male/female patients
