Registered Nurse — Medical-Surgical/Telemetry

Overview

Travel/contract role in Greensboro, North Carolina
Day shift: 3x12s, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
Every other weekend required
Holidays as needed
Float required across facilities if needed
First-time travelers accepted
Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in North Carolina
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
NIHSS
Driver's License
Experience with Epic
Must pass an EKG exam during onboarding
Must pass dysrhythmia/EKG testing
Must pass medication/pharmacology competency testing
Must pass competency testing as applicable to the specialty
Must complete a background check
Must complete employment verification for the last 5 years
Must provide 2 supervisory references
Must submit an employment application/resume with 7 years of work history
Must complete a skills checklist
Must complete a health history form
Must complete a physical exam
Must provide fit test documentation
Must provide proof of Tdap vaccination
Must provide TB screening documentation
Must provide MMR immunity documentation
Must provide hepatitis B immunity or declination documentation
Must provide varicella immunity documentation
Must provide a negative drug screen
Must provide flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season

Previous charge RN experience

Clinical Focus

Primarily medical-surgical patients
Observation patients
Respiratory conditions/problems
General medical-surgical diagnoses
Palliative, end-of-life, and hospice patients
Psychiatric observation
Diabetes care, including new diabetics and patients with complications
Surgical and surgical observation patients

Additional Notes

EPIC experience is used on the unit
Travelers may be floated across all facilities in the system
