Description
Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse
Assignment Overview
- Travel assignment in Newburgh, Indiana
- 13 weeks
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Day shift: 12 hours, 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM
- Primary location: Gateway
- No local candidates within a 40-mile radius
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Indiana
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Med Surg (2 years of experience)
- Med Surg experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- NIHSS
- Trauma experience
- Experience with Epic
- PIV insertion
- Ability to manage stable drips (heparin, lasix, protonix)
Unit Details
- Observation MS unit
- 32 beds
- Day ratio: 1:4-5
- Night ratio: 1:5-7
- Excellent LPN and CNA support
Float / Scheduling
- First to float within skillset
- May float to Deaconess Midtown campus and potentially to Deaconess Henderson
- Cross-campus float notice: 2 hours
- Mid-shift float within the same campus may occur
- Three weekends out of every six-week schedule
- Every other holiday
Additional Notes
- Clinical interview
- Teaching hospital; may require precepting students and new hires
- 3 call-ins can result in termination
- Navy blue scrubs
- COVID-19 vaccine not required, subject to change
