Cath Lab RN

Overview

Travel/Contract role in Roanoke, Virginia
Day shift: 4x10s, 7:30a-6:00p, plus call
Up to 26 weeks available by request
Charting: Epic required
Serves adult patients in a cath lab with 6 procedure rooms and a daily census of 15–20
On-call expectation: 7 on-call shifts and 5 late shifts every 6-week period, including one full weekend of call and one Saturday shift for elective cases
Must be able to return to the hospital within 30 minutes when called
One holiday per 13-week contract required
Accepts pending state license
Does not accept first-time travelers
Does not accept locals

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Virginia
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Cardiac Cath Lab (1 year of experience)
Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
One completed travel assignment
ACLS issued by American Heart Association
BLS issued by American Heart Association
Scrub experience
Dysrhythmia recognition and interpretation
Hemodynamic monitoring
Experience in diagnostic/interventional cath lab settings using fluoro
Experience with Epic

Unit Details

Common diagnoses: coronary artery disease, valve disorders, heart failure, and atrial septal defect/patent foramen ovale closures
Advanced procedures include TAVR, left atrial appendage closures, Cardiomems, thrombectomy, mitral clips, renal denervation, and research protocols
Equipment includes IABP, Impella, Penumbra, Rotapro, CSI, Shockwave, laser, OCT, and IVUS

Notes

The hospital is an acute care teaching hospital with over 700 licensed beds, Level I Trauma Center status, Magnet designation, and certified stroke center recognition
The facility is nationally recognized for cardiac cath lab excellence and has ACC accreditation for PCI procedures
