Description

Trauma RN

Overview

  • Travel/Contract role in Saint Louis, Missouri
  • Day shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00–19:30
  • Can sign for 36 or 48 hours per week
  • Start date is 3–4 weeks out per compliance tier
  • Guaranteed hours: Yes
  • Ratios: 1:4–6
  • Weekend requirement: every other
  • On-call: No
  • Floating: may float within scope to meet facility needs
  • Block schedule: not accommodated
  • Local candidates: not accepted within a 75-mile radius
  • Pending license accepted: Yes
  • RTO limit: no more than 7 days per 13-week contract

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Missouri
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • 5 years of Med Surg experience
  • Med Surg experience within the last year
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
  • EKG interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Blood product administration
  • Peripheral line care and management
  • Phlebotomy
  • IV insertion skills
  • Insulin administration
  • PCA pump management
  • Spinal cord injury care
  • Traumatic brain injury care

Unit / Clinical Focus

  • RN/MS - Trauma
  • Patient diagnoses may come from ED, OR, or ICU
  • Unit services include geriatric trauma, trauma, and acute care surgery
  • Trauma-related experience listed includes spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injury, ortho trauma, peripheral nerve block catheters, total joint replacements, surgical drains, chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, nasal cannula, oral suctioning, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tank, isolation precautions, wound care/wound vac, blood product administration, peripheral line care/management, phlebotomy, starting IVs, insulin, and PCA

Preferred

  • Supervisors within the last year are preferred as references
