Description

Oncology RN

Overview

  • Travel/Contract role in Saint Louis, Missouri
  • 13-week assignment
  • Day shift, 5x8 hours: 7:45 AM to 4:15 PM
  • 40 hours per week
  • 2 rooms
  • Average daily census: 80
  • Visits per day: 16
  • No call required
  • First-timers accepted
  • Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Missouri
  • Oncology (2 years of experience)
  • Oncology experience within the last year
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Infusion Center experience
  • Inpatient oncology experience
  • Outpatient oncology experience
  • Active Immunotherapy (Specific/Non Specific) experience
  • Recognize and manage oncology side effects
  • Care and management of ports
  • Antibiotics administration
  • Antiemetics administration
  • Management of alteration in skin and mucous membranes
  • Management of altered mental status

Preferred

  • Previous oncology experience
  • Supervisors within the last year are preferred for references

Clinical Focus

  • Infusion Center
  • Inpatient oncology
  • Outpatient oncology
  • Active immunotherapy, specific and non-specific
  • Recognize and manage side effects
  • Care and management of ports
  • Antibiotics
  • Antiemetics
  • Care coordination
  • Alteration in skin and mucous membranes
  • Altered mental status

Work Setting

  • Main building, cancer center clinic on the ground floor
  • Float as needed within the service line

Additional Notes

  • Epic charting
  • RTO limit: no more than 7 days
