Labor and Delivery RN

Overview

Contract RN role in Mauston, Wisconsin.
Night shift: 3 x 12-hour shifts per week, 1900-0730, with weekend rotation.
13-week contract.

Role Summary

Provides nursing care for maternal and newborn patients and cross-trains to care for Med Surg/EICU patients when needed.

Required Qualifications

Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
Valid RN license in Wisconsin.
Labor and Delivery experience within the last year.
1 year of Labor and Delivery experience.
Manages induction of labor and cervical ripening.
Deals competently with medical emergencies including prolapsed cord, breech delivery, postpartum hemorrhage, precipitous delivery, uterine rupture, management of meconium, abruptio placenta, and placenta previa.
Performs and accurately interprets fetal heart monitoring.
Performs neonatal resuscitation within scope of practice and certification.
Assesses condition of newborn and recognizes situations of heightened surveillance or situations that require a higher level of care.
Recognizes and manages neonatal sepsis.
Monitors newborn for any adverse events such as hypoglycemia, hypothermia, and jaundice, and intervenes appropriately.

Preferred Qualifications

Four-year degree in nursing.
