Operating Room

Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Winter Haven, Florida
• Day shift: 4x10 hours, 7:00–17:30
• 40 hours per week
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• First-timers accepted
• Weekend work required
• On-call required: 3 overnight shifts in a 4-week period and 1–2 weekend call shifts in a 4-week period
• No floating within scope
• No block schedule accommodation
• No locals accepted
• Pending license not accepted

Required Qualifications

• OR - Operating Room (2 years of experience)
• OR - Operating Room experience within the last year
• Ability to circulate
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• Valid RN license in Florida
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience with Cerner
• COVID-19 vaccination required; medical or religious exemptions accepted
• Driver’s license or state ID required and must remain active/current during the assignment
• Nursys verification required
• Background check required within 1 year of start
• Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint results required before start
• Education verification required
• Physical exam within 6 months of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 10 weeks of start
• Drug test within 30 days
• References: 2 from within the past 2 years

Unit / Setting

• Main OR with 11 operating rooms
• Hours of operation: 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
• Urgent/emergent cases after 7:00 p.m. only
• Call response time: 30 minutes
• 475-bed community hospital
• Patient population is primarily adult; no pediatric population
• Surgical specialties include robotic, orthopedic, general, GYN, vascular, urology, and neurology (ortho spine)
