Description
PACU
Overview
- Travel/Contract role in Portland, Oregon.
- Shift: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, 3 days per week.
- No weekends or holidays.
- Contract length: 13 weeks.
Department / Setting
- PACU experience is needed.
- The department cares for patients from Cardiac Cath, Electrophysiology, Interventional Radiology, and Gastrointestinal/Endoscopy procedures.
- The unit recovers patients after moderate procedural sedation and general anesthesia recovery.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Oregon.
- PACU - Post Anesthesia Care (2 years of experience).
- PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Experience in a Critical Care or Emergency Department or Procedural Area setting.
- Experience with Epic.
- ACLS, BLS, and PALS required prior to first day of work.
- Valid government-issued photo ID required on the first day to obtain badge.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge or experience with arterial and venous femoral access, sheath removal, and management.
- Knowledge or experience with anesthesia recovery (Phase I/II).
- Knowledge or experience with TEE, Cardioversion, and BMBx procedures.
- Experience on a Shared Governance council or committee.
- Experience as a Charge RN in ICU, PACU, ED, or a Procedural Unit.
- CAPA, CPAN, or CCRN certification preferred.
Additional Notes
- Excellent communication, collaboration, independent problem-solving, and time management are emphasized in the role.
