Description

American Traveler is hiring a PACU RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring PALS, ACLS, and BLS certifications with on-call and float responsibilities.

Details

• Work in the PACU unit of a short-term acute care hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 7:00 AM-5:30 PM
• On-call required, approximately 100 hours
• Weekend on-call required
• Floating between units based on facility needs and skill set, and potentially between sister facilities
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active OR/PACU RN license (Compact license must be in hand at time of submission)
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS required; CCRN and NIHSS preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of PACU nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must have a vehicle for this assignment
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Must provide response regarding any prior work history with the health system, including permanent, travel, or per-diem roles

Additional Information

• Provide post-anesthesia care to a variety of surgical patients including cardiac, neuro/spine, bariatric, ortho, and pediatric cases
• Skilled in airway management, ventilated patient care, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Scrubs of any color permitted, with facility-provided scrubs for OR/Critical Care/ED/Maternal Child units
• No parking fees at this facility
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer requests may not be granted
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous permanent employees must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
