• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shift: Day shift, Saturday only (06:30 - 15:00)
• Shift Duration: 8 hours
• Hours per Week: 40
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,640 - $1,770
• Setting: Hospital Laboratory – clinical support role

Medical Laboratory Scientist Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of clinical laboratory experience required (first-time travelers welcome)
• ASCP certification required; ASCP-MLS and BLS preferred
• Blood bank experience required
• Experience with Cerner charting system preferred
• Ability to function as a generalist in laboratory medicine (chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, etc.)
• Active Maryland or Compact medical laboratory license required
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Two satisfactory professional references required
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the Baltimore facility

Medical Laboratory Scientist Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests and procedures, including blood banking, specimen collection, and analysis
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation
• Ensure accurate patient identification and specimen labeling
• Conduct quality assurance and control procedures
• Report and interpret laboratory test results promptly
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support patient care
• Maintain compliance with safety and infection control protocols
• Float within the hospital laboratory as needed
