Registered Respiratory Therapist Qualifications

• Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
• Pennsylvania state respiratory therapist license (or eligibility)
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience as an RRT in a hospital or acute care setting
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced hospital environment

Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care and clinical support to patients in a hospital setting
• Administer and monitor respiratory therapy treatments, including ventilator management and oxygen therapy
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams on patient care plans
• Conduct patient assessments and maintain accurate clinical documentation
• Educate patients and families on respiratory therapy procedures and equipment usage
