Respiratory Therapist Job Details

• Location: Summit, New Jersey (Zip: 07901) – Easy access to New York healthcare jobs
• Setting: Hospital – Respiratory Therapy Unit
• Contract Duration: 8 weeks, with possibility of extension
• Shifts: Three 12-hour night shifts per week (7p-7a), including weekends
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1790-$1920

Respiratory Therapist Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) in a hospital or physician office setting
• Graduate of a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• Current RRT or CRT credential from NBRC
• Active New Jersey Respiratory Therapist license (RCP)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Computer literacy and strong clinical documentation skills

Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care, including pulmonary function testing and CPAP device initiation
• Manage durable medical equipment (DME) needs such as oxygen concentrators and nebulizers
• Educate and train patients on inhaler use and respiratory therapy techniques
• Set up and maintain DME equipment for patients
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
