Cath Lab Technologist Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of experience as a cardiac cath technologist or interventional radiology technologist
Associate's Degree in Radiologic Studies or completion of an approved Cardiovascular Technology Program
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Registered American Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or Registered Cardio Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered

Key Responsibilities in Hospital Cath Lab

Operate advanced cath lab equipment and deliver patient care during cardiac catheterization procedures
Assist physicians with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations
Perform and interpret hemodynamic waveforms and electrocardiographic tracings
Operate and maintain fluorographic, digital image recording, laser, and electrophysiology equipment
Develop and monitor quality control policies and procedures for clinical support
Train staff technologists, fellows, and nursing staff in equipment function and safety procedures
Maintain inventory control systems and computer reports
