This hospital radiation therapy job offers hands-on experience with LINACs, CT simulation, and cross-site clinical practice across multiple hospital locations (PCAM, PAH, PPMC). Ideal candidates are certified, patient-focused, and enjoy collaborating with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, dosimetrists, and nursing staff.
Job Details
- Location: Philadelphia, PA 19104 (University City — close to top hospitals, universities, and public transit)
- Position: Radiation Therapist (hospital-based; Radiation Oncology)
- Contract Type: 13-week contract — extensions and temp-to-perm conversion possible
- Schedule: Mon–Fri, 8-hour day shifts (start as early as 6:00 AM; department open until 5:00–6:00 PM)
- Shifts per Week / Hours: 5 shifts / 40 hours per week
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,744 – $1,938 (competitive pay for Philadelphia radiation therapy jobs)
- Hourly Pay Rate: $88.35/hour
- Start Date: March 30, 2026
- Work Setting: On-site; may float between PCAM, PAH, and PPMC hospital locations — valuable cross-site clinical radiation therapy experience
- Employment Types: Full-time, Part-time, PRN opportunities available
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years radiation therapist experience in a hospital or clinical oncology setting
- Current ARRT (Radiation Therapy) certification required — must be in good standing
- State licensure if applicable for Pennsylvania radiation therapists
- Experience with LINAC operation, CT simulation, and electronic medical record (EMR) treatment documentation preferred
- Proton therapy and advanced CT simulation experience is a plus
- Strong communication skills, teamwork, and ability to adapt to varying workflows across multiple hospital sites
- Willingness to float between hospital locations and work flexible hours within departmental operating times
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, accurate radiation therapy treatments in accordance with physician prescriptions and departmental protocols
- Operate and troubleshoot radiation therapy equipment (e.g., LINACs) and support CT simulation procedures
- Collaborate closely with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, dosimetrists, nurses, and allied health staff to optimize patient care
- Maintain precise treatment records and documentation in EMR systems to meet regulatory and hospital standards
- Participate in structured onboarding and hands-on training with an experienced Radiation Therapist on assigned machines
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to diverse adult and/or pediatric oncology populations
- Support consistent patient treatment schedules while adapting to cross-site workflows and departmental needs
