Experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist needed for a 13-week on-site contract in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Join a fast-paced hospital laboratory team in the 19104 area, located in Philadelphia’s dynamic medical and university district, and help support accurate laboratory testing, specimen processing, and timely patient care in a high-volume clinical setting.

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2600-$2790
• Location: Philadelphia, PA 19104
• Setting: Hospital central receiving and processing laboratory
• Start Date: 7/27/2026
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Work Arrangement: On-site

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist
• Hospital laboratory experience preferred, especially in a central receiving or specimen processing environment
• Strong knowledge of clinical laboratory operations, specimen handling, and quality assurance standards
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume healthcare environment
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with laboratory staff, nurses, and other healthcare professionals

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing and related procedures in accordance with established protocols, regulatory requirements, and quality standards
• Support central receiving and specimen processing workflows to ensure timely, accurate handling of samples
• Verify specimen integrity, prioritize workload, and maintain accurate documentation
• Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation as needed within scope of practice
• Identify, troubleshoot, and escalate testing or specimen issues appropriately
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, laboratory safety procedures, and applicable regulatory guidelines
• Communicate effectively with laboratory team members and clinical staff to support quality patient care
