- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Friday/Saturday)
- Floating: May float between pediatric units, NICU, and adult units within skill set
Job Requirements
- 1.5+ years of Respiratory Therapist experience required
- NICU and PICU experience required
- Active NJ or compact respiratory therapist license required at time of submission
- BLS and NBRC required
- Advanced certifications such as ACLS, PALS, and NRP required; may be obtained onsite if needed
- EPIC charting experience required
- First-time travelers accepted
- Must be available to work 2 of 3 holidays unless otherwise specified
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality respiratory care for neonatal critical care and pediatric patients
- Perform blood gas collection, ventilator management, BiPAP/high-flow initiation, medication administration, and chest physiotherapy
- Support in-house transport, code response, and urgent respiratory interventions
- Assist with airway management, including intubation support, extubation, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
- Troubleshoot respiratory equipment and ensure safe, effective use of high-flow nasal cannula, CPAP, BiPAP, and ventilators
- Float within the assigned skill set to support patient care across designated hospital units as needed
