Job Details

• Position: MRI Technologist Travel Assignment
• Setting: Hospital MRI Department
• Location: Boston, MA 02215
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: 9/21/2026
• Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,240 - $2,400
• Work Environment: Fast-paced, independent clinical setting
• Travel Note: Not open to local travelers within 50 miles of the facility

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of MRI technologist experience required
• ARRT certification required
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Experience with Epic preferred
• Experience using GE and Siemens 1.5T and 3T MRI scanners preferred
• Ability to work independently in a busy hospital imaging department
• Strong communication skills and a patient-focused approach
• Must be comfortable with rotating shift coverage

Responsibilities

• Prepare and position patients for MRI exams of various body parts
• Set up coils, monitoring devices, and related equipment for imaging procedures
• Screen patients and personnel for ferrous metal implants and other safety concerns
• Select appropriate pulse sequences and document all sequences used for each exam
• Review image quality, completeness, and diagnostic value; make adjustments as needed
• Send images to PACS and verify exam completion in a timely manner
• Communicate clearly with patients, answer questions, and help reduce anxiety
• Start IV lines for contrast studies and monitor for contrast reactions
• Maintain accurate records and scan statistics in accordance with department requirements
• Support teaching and mentorship of students and other imaging staff when needed
• Participate in ongoing education to stay current with MRI best practices and healthcare imaging standards
