- Shift: 12-hour night shifts
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,890-$2,030
- Orientation: 36 hours
- Charting System: Epic
- Floating: Required to general floors, ED, NICU, PICU, and pulmonary areas
- Weekend Coverage: Required
- Call: May be placed on-call
Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Requirements
- Active Ohio RRT license in hand
- Registered Respiratory Therapist certification required
- BLS and PALS required
- At least 2 years of experience preferred; pediatric respiratory care experience with some NICU exposure required
- Experience with pediatric and neonatal patient populations strongly preferred
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital setting
- Comfortable floating across multiple inpatient units as needed
- Two supervisory references required at time of submission
- Clinical skills should include ventilator support, airway management, ABG interpretation, suctioning, and noninvasive ventilation
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality respiratory therapy to infants, children, and adolescents
- Support patients with complex cardiopulmonary conditions, including congenital or acquired heart disease, heart failure, transplant care, VAD/ECMO, and trach/vent dependency
- Assist with aerosol treatments, BiPAP/CPAP, intubation support, extubation, tracheostomy care, and ventilator management
- Perform and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and deliver respiratory interventions based on patient condition
- Support specialized equipment and therapies such as V60, HFOV, SiPAP, nitric oxide, IPV, and Metaneb
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure safe, effective patient care
- Adapt quickly to changing unit needs and provide dependable coverage during nights, weekends, and on-call shifts
