Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience in an acute care or hospital setting
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist credential and active Ohio licensure or eligibility to obtain before start
• Experience with ventilators, oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and nebulizer treatments
• Working knowledge of airway management, respiratory assessments, and clinical support protocols
• Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced inpatient healthcare environment
• Current BLS certification; ACLS knowledge or certification preferred
• Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Provide quality patient care through comprehensive respiratory therapy services and medically prescribed patient transport
• Evaluate patients and recommend appropriate treatment plans based on clinical findings
• Administer prescribed therapies using invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen devices, aerosol devices, and nebulizers
• Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning, oximetry, capnography, and pulmonary function studies according to hospital policy
• Assist with respiratory-related procedures such as bronchoscopy support, tracheostomy care, chest tube-related support, and airway management
• Set up, self-test, maintain, and monitor mechanical ventilation equipment
• Perform arterial punctures and accurately monitor, record, and report results
• Document treatments, patient response, and assessment data thoroughly and accurately
• Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members during handoff and shift-to-shift reporting
• Support equipment maintenance, charging accuracy, and other duties as assigned
